A North Yorkshire school is to give a six-week free ride to pupils who have been banned after they refused to stop at McDonald’s for two hours.

It has been taken after the children refused to stop in front of cars when it was on its way home from a work holiday.

It was due to depart from Eastmead later this morning.

It is understood the issue was raised last month after the children had moved their food and drink on a train to Loughborough.

This was because of staff shortages.

The children were told to get up from the train at the end of the second car, however drivers and others refused to stop and even stopped with their cars.

According to the Waverley Local Area Council, this is still happening, only this time it looks more like the children were being warned to stop in front of cars to avoid congestion.

Schools including Sheffield and Halsall have all posted notices on social media indicating this incident will not stop.

It has even resulted in staff being asked to stop on the first car.

The parents of the 10-year-old boy have also made their complaints to Waverley council.
